These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Enqualia Books, operated by Enqualia ("Enqualia", "we", "us"), a company based in the Netherlands. By creating an account, publishing a book, or purchasing anything on Enqualia Books, you agree to these Terms.

1. Your account and content

You retain full ownership of any manuscript, cover art, or other content you upload or create on the platform ("Author Content"). We do not claim rights to your work. By submitting Author Content for publication or sale on Enqualia Books, you grant Enqualia a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, reproduce, format, and distribute that content solely for the purposes of providing the platform's editing, publishing, and marketplace features — including generating ebook, print, and audiobook editions on your behalf. You may remove your content or close your account at any time, which ends the license for future distribution.

2. Enqualia is the merchant of record

For every digital sale, print order, and subscription made through Enqualia Books, Enqualia is the seller and merchant of record — not the author. Payments are processed by Stripe and charged to Enqualia's account. Authors receive a royalty share of net revenue (currently 80% of the platform's margin on each sale, after payment processing, printing, and shipping costs where applicable) credited to an internal balance and paid out on a periodic schedule. Royalty rates and the payout schedule may be updated from time to time; changes apply to sales made after the change takes effect.

To receive a payout you must provide valid payment details (bank account or PayPal) on your Sales page, and you are responsible for keeping them accurate — we are not liable for funds sent to details you supplied incorrectly. Payouts are made in EUR. You are responsible for declaring and paying any tax due on your royalties in your own country.

3. Publishing your book

You can list a book for digital sale in the Enqualia bookstore yourself, at a price you choose within the limits shown, without waiting for review. Printed editions, inclusion in the reader subscription catalog, and distribution to third-party stores such as Amazon require an editorial review first, because those channels carry production costs and external quality requirements. We may decline to publish, or remove, any listing that breaches these Terms — we will tell you why.

4. Purchases, subscriptions, and refunds

Digital purchases (ebooks, audiobooks) are delivered instantly on payment confirmation. Because delivery is immediate, digital purchases are final except where required by law or where the file is materially defective — contact us and we will make it right.

Print-on-demand orders are manufactured and shipped by our print partner once payment is confirmed. Because each copy is printed specifically for you, orders cannot be cancelled once production has started. Damaged, defective, or misprinted copies are eligible for a replacement or refund — contact us with photos of the issue within 30 days of delivery.

The Reader subscription renews automatically each month at the price shown at checkout until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then. You may request a refund within 14 days of a subscription charge if you have not made substantial use of the catalog in that period; contact us to request one.

All prices are shown in EUR and include VAT where applicable.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use Enqualia Books respectfully and lawfully: no uploading content you don't have the rights to publish, no harassment, no attempts to circumvent payment or access controls, and no use of the platform to generate content that is illegal, infringing, or intended to deceive buyers.

6. AI-assisted features

Enqualia Books offers AI-assisted proofreading, translation, brainstorming, and image generation. These tools are assistive — you are responsible for reviewing and approving any AI-generated or AI-modified content before it is published under your name.

AI features carry real processing costs, so accounts have fair-use limits on how much AI processing they can use in a given period, and audiobook narration and image generation are metered in credits which can be purchased separately. Purchased credits are non-refundable once spent and have no cash value. We may adjust fair-use limits to keep the platform available to everyone.

7. Disclaimers and liability

Enqualia Books is provided "as is". We work hard to keep the platform reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. To the extent permitted by law, Enqualia's liability for any claim arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the platform evolves. We'll post the updated date at the top of this page; continued use of Enqualia Books after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
